Why Organizational Leadership at Bethel?
At Bethel, we approach the study of leadership from a unique perspective that integrates ethical discussion into all course work and focuses on effective followership—a skill that’s vital in any group setting.
Here are a few additional highlights of the program:
- Our cohort model. You’ll belong to a group of students who progress through the program together. These peers will represent a broad array of professions, organizations, and careers. This variety of perspectives will enrich your understanding of leadership.
- Relevance. You’ll learn leadership competencies that apply to any setting, including writing, speaking, presenting, critical thinking, teamwork and collaboration, and technology use, to name a few. These skills will apply immediately to your personal and professional life, and make you more effective in any community, social, political, or church organization you serve.
- Personal discovery. You’ll discover your personal leadership strengths and style—your leadership voice—and learn to recognize these traits in others. This awareness will make you a more collaborative team member.
- Balance. Along with leadership, you’ll encounter a rare emphasis on followership. Both roles require special competencies, and both are vital to any organization. You’ll learn to choose the appropriate role in any situation.
- Awareness. You’ll learn to assess organizations more accurately, and engage with your own sphere of influence in ways that are mutually beneficial.
